The Ministry of Health has a vaccination manual that consists of 450 pages, presentation, an index and content, addressing topics such as: the production and quality control of vaccines, the application of biologicals, the cold network and the vaccines that exist.
In a review carried out by EL UNIVERSAL, it was found that in the section on vaccine application it is noted that there are risks of vaccine accidents attributable to poor application procedures, reuse of injection equipment, use of potentially contaminated needles and syringes and the risk of generate septic abscesses or blood-borne microorganisms are introduced into the body of vaccinated people.
Furthermore, regarding the cold chain in which vaccines are preserved, said manual says: “it is of utmost importance for the successful development of vaccination to maintain its continuity, since a failure in any of its basic operations or links seriously compromises the quality of biologicals”.

Said manual stipulates that it is required to have inputs such as adequate equipment, health personnel with specific training on procedures and management at the different levels of the operational structure of the health sector, they must also have permanent financing by federative entity, with the purpose of having a continuous operation of human and material resources.

It should be noted that the manual states that there must be equipment for exclusive use for biologicals, the cold chambers, ultra-freezers, refrigerators and freezers of the PVU must be for exclusive use for the storage and conservation of vaccines for human use, so The storage of another biological or input that does not correspond to the PVU is prohibited, being the strictest responsibility of the person in charge of the health unit in question.
It also addresses the accessories that the transportation of vaccines in general must have, the form of distribution and the cold chains. According to the manual, there are elements of the cold chain that are: cold chambers, ultra-freezers, refrigerators, freezers, thermoses, thermal boxes, vehicles with refrigerant box.
