Maxi then asked residents who had symptoms of monkeypox to immediately report and check themselves at the nearest health facility so that they could get a diagnosis and get further treatment.
Maxi ensured that the Ministry of Health had prepared a laboratory for detecting monkeypox detection in all provinces of Indonesia.
He also stated that the Ministry of Health would strengthen and increase early detection or surveillance of monkeypox in gay groups in Indonesia. Surveillance will be carried out in collaboration with a number of parties such as the relevant Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Indonesia.
The mitigation effort was carried out because of reports from a number of countries, most of those infected with monkeypox were gay men.

The World Health Organization (WHO) previously declared the monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency on Saturday (23/7). The statement follows the findings of many cases of monkeypox in a number of countries.
WHO reports 16,000 cases of monkeypox findings from 75 countries. So far, five deaths have been recorded due to monkeypox. This emergency declaration will help accelerate vaccine production and implement measures to limit the spread of the virus.
WHO also released recommendations that are expected to encourage countries to take action. These measures include stopping the transmission of the virus and protecting those who are most vulnerable to infection.
