The Ministry of Health revealed the number of patients and inpatients in its mental health departments during the past year 2022, as their total number reached 696,318 patients and inpatients, including 660,038 patients and 36,280 inpatients.
According to official statistics from the Ministry, represented by the Ministry’s General Department of Psychological and Social Health, the total number of new patients and inpatients reached 117,433 patients and inpatients, including 99,373 patients and 18,060 inpatients.
The statistics showed that the number of registered cases of organic disorders reached 15,994 cases for patients between referrals and inpatients, while 160,301 cases were recorded for schizophrenia and schizotypal disorders.
The number of cases of neurotic and stress-related associations reached 128,190 cases, while cases resulting from the use of psychoactive substances reached 82,577 cases, and cases of personality and behavioral disorders amounted to 13,563 cases, mental retardation 34,579 cases, unspecified mental disorders 23,819 cases, and behavioral syndromes associated with disturbances in functions. Members 11,625 cases, behavioral and emotional disorders beginning in childhood and adolescence 14,128 cases, psychological development disorders 22,056 cases, and 189,486 cases of affective mood disorders were recorded for patients attending and inpatients in the mental health departments of the Ministry of Health according to the disease groups of the International Classification of Diseases ICD-10 in 2022 AD.
