“Ministry of Health Receives 599,000 Doses of the Modified Pfizer Vaccine in First Shipment”

The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it received the first shipment of the “modified Pfizer” vaccine this morning, at Cairo International Airport, with a total of 599 thousand and 40 doses, produced by the “Pfizer” company, provided by the countries of France and Sweden, through the COVAX mechanism, in cooperation with the International Alliance of Serums. Jaffe vaccines.

This shipment comes within two million doses that reach Egypt, successively, during the current week, within the framework of the state’s plan to diversify and expand the provision of anti-coronavirus vaccines, in order to preserve the gains of the Egyptian state in dealing with the pandemic.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that the “modified Pfizer” vaccine works effectively against mutants of the emerging corona virus, including “Omicron”, explaining that the vaccine will be given as a booster dose to those who have received previous doses of different types of vaccines.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the shipment will be distributed to vaccination centers spread across the governorates of the Republic, after completing the necessary analyzes at the Egyptian Medicines Authority, adding that the “modified Pfizer” vaccine has been approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority.

The Ministry of Health and Population calls on citizens to register on the ministry’s website: https://egcovac.mohp.gov.eg/#/registration to receive coronavirus vaccines, stressing that the state spares no effort in providing vaccines to citizens “for free” in all governorates of the Republic, in addition to Its constant keenness to reach citizens in remote areas and places and provide them with vaccines, which contributes to preserving the societal immunity of citizens.
