This week the Minister of Health, Andrea Peve, met the president of the Argentine Pediatric Society (SAP) Alto Valle del Río Negro and Neuquén, Sara Valsecchi, and with the president of the Rural Medicine Society, Adriana Feltri, to discuss the trend campaign in our province and continue to reinforce the importance of conveying that these additional and mandatory vaccines allow us to take care of our children.

“It is essential to unite to support the commitment against these diseases, which can be very serious, and which we have been able to eliminate and control with difficulty in our province and in the country. We must not lose sight of the fact that in other parts of the world these diseases continue to be a serious health problem, ”said Peve.

In addition, the head of the health portfolio warned: “Health teams continue to step up their tasks to reach the population and we need everyone’s commitment to achieve goals that protect us as a community. We must understand that vaccines are the key to avoiding the reintegration of these diseases ”.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the Metropolitan Health Area, Alejandra Espinosa, and the referent for vaccinations of the health portfolio, Araceli Gitlein, during which the importance of informing and advising Neuquén families on the obligation and on the need to apply these measures. vaccines and those of the National Vaccination Calendar.

It should be noted that during this first month of the campaign, Neuquén ranks among the nine provinces that have already vaccinated more than half of the target population. For this reason, it is necessary to continue to work and join forces with different organizations to achieve the expected goal.

At the same time, all health teams, especially those who care for boys and girls, are invited to continue to convey the importance of this national campaign.

Along the same lines, in the last Federal Council of Health (COFESA) held on Thursday 27 October, the ministers of health of the 24 jurisdictions launched an appeal to families to participate in the vaccination of boys and girls from 13 months to 4 years inclusive, in the scope of that campaign.

Importantly, these national vaccination campaigns are carried out every four years to prevent the resurgence of diseases that have been eliminated or controlled in the country. For this reason it is a mandatory preventive measure.

The National Measles, Rubella, Mumps and Polio Vaccination Campaign is aimed at girls and boys aged 13 months to 4 years inclusive, who must receive additional doses of the triple viral vaccine (SRP) and polio vaccine (IPV) . regardless of age. Keep the calendar up to date.

Campaign vaccines can be co-administered with the COVID-19 vaccine and any vaccine from the National Calendar. The application of these vaccines is free, mandatory and does not require a prescription or medical indication.
