TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) targets that 95 percent of children must receive complete basic immunization.
This was conveyed by the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM, MARS.
“Indeed, 95 percent of our children must have received immunizations. “Therefore, we are expanding immunization to 14 antigens and that is national,” he said on the official website of the Ministry of Health, reported Monday (12/2/2024).
So far, said Dr. Maxi, there are several areas that can approach the target. However, there are still districts or cities that are far from achieving expectations.
“Because I see that there are several districts/cities that can approach the national (target), but there are districts/cities that are very far from complete basic immunization,” said Maxi, quoted on Thursday (1/2/2024).
Maxi further said that regarding the expansion of immunization that is being pushed by the government, there are three additional vaccines.
The three vaccines are Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (HPV) for cancer, Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) for pneumonia, and Rotavirus Vaccine (RV) for diarrhea.
