The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) against establishing camps for displaced residents of the Strip, or submitting to the orders of the Israeli occupation, which seeks to displace the Palestinians.
The spokesman for the government media office in Gaza revealed – in a conference held at Al-Shifa Hospital – that they were surprised during the past hours by the establishment of a large camp in the Khan Yunis area, supervised by UNRWA, which – according to the spokesman – is reminiscent of the refugee camps in 1948.
He said, “The agency’s role is not to set up tents for those who kill and slaughter and for those who are displaced inside the Gaza Strip in preparation for their displacement outside the Strip.” Rather, what is required of this agency is to assume its responsibilities as part of the United Nations system in protecting these displaced people, in addition to providing all the requirements for steadfastness and livelihood so that they remain in their homes. Or in areas close to it and not complying with the occupation’s order to displace and displace.
The Palestinian spokesman also called on UNRWA to return to its services and assume its duties in the northern and Gaza areas in order to prove that it is looking out for the interests of the Palestinians.
The Ministry of Health official warned that the occupation was targeting everyone, and called on those who were displaced towards the southern Gaza Valley in search of safety to quickly return to their areas of residence, remain on this land, and contribute to the defense of the Palestinian people.
On the other hand, the representative of the Ministry of Health confirmed that the Gaza Strip had not received a pill or a drink of water from any party, and that “there has not been any communication until this moment, and the Rafah crossing has not been opened.” He called for the start of imposing safe passage to remove the wounded and injured and bring in all forms of aid and relief. necessary for the residents of the Strip.
He called for providing the residents of Gaza with medical supplies, medicines, fuel, electricity supplies, food and supplies, and everything related to life necessities that the occupation has prevented from the Strip since the war it has been waging against it.
The spokesman stressed that the health system in Gaza is in virtual collapse due to the large numbers of wounded who are injured every moment, and the absence of capabilities related to the necessary medical care.
