In Belarus, medicines can be bought online at pharmacies. This is provided for by the Decree of the Ministry of Health No. 69 dated May 3, 2023 “On the retail sale of medicines by remote means,” reports press service of the Ministry of Health.
In particular, the innovation is aimed at improving the system of trade in medical products and making the purchase easier and more affordable. For this, it was decided to organize the sale of medicines via the Internet in Belarus.
The Ministry of Health clarified that only over-the-counter drugs can be sold, while alcohol-containing drugs with a volume fraction of ethyl alcohol over 25% are prohibited.
The Ministry of Health noted that the sale of medicines will take place through an online pharmacy registered on the Internet, through which it is also possible to receive pharmaceutical advice. The legal entity will be able to deliver the order both on its own through the delivery service, and with the involvement of an organization providing courier services.
To avoid fake sites and unscrupulous sellers, Gospharmnadzor will form a special list that will include information about the name of the legal entity, the address of the online pharmacy, etc. Also, employees of this public service are required to identify counterfeit medicines and prevent the distribution of counterfeit medicines.
A complete list of online pharmacies and courier services that deliver medicines will be compiled on the Gospharmnadzor website. Anyone will be able to familiarize themselves with this information in order to verify the authenticity of the legal entity from which they order medicines.
