“Ministry of Health conducts successful house-to-house Covid-19 vaccination drive in Nicaraguan community”

MANAGUA – NICARAGUA / Brigadistas from the Ministry of Health, from the early hours of this Friday, April 21, carried out the voluntary house-to-house vaccination day against Covid-19, in the La Borgoña community of the Ticuantepe municipality, Managua department.

“Today we are intervening in the La Borgoña community, which has 485 homes, we walk with the protagonists and leaders of the community, and our health unit with the nurses and doctors organized by bringing the day against Covid 19 home to home. , where we ask families to open their homes to us, as we remember that Covid is a disease from which we all have to be immunized,” said Dr. Tamara Rodríguez, Epidemiologist at the Amistad México-Nicaragua Primary Hospital.

Dr. Rodríguez also indicated that with this day the care and application of vaccines is approaching for those patients who for some reason had not been able to apply their first or second dose. The dose to be applied to all citizens is the Pfizer and seeks to carry out the scheme for those who have not been vaccinated during this year.

“In the same way, we have what Pfizer is for children and pregnant women, since we remember that being immunized is extremely important, especially with all the respiratory diseases this season, that is why we must go to our health units that we always have open, before any symptom that they present so that it can be evaluated by a specialist”said the Epidemiologist.

Likewise, he pointed out that in the municipality there are 3 fixed health posts located at the Headquarters, Puesto La Borgoña and Puesto Los Ríos, he also stressed that work brigades are distributed house-to-house in the same way.

“We know that the results have been very positive, thank God, because it has decreased a lot in terms of this disease, since the population has assumed the shared responsibility of both them and us, because as health workers we are committed to reach each one from the sectors, that in Ticuantepe we serve 21 communities between urban and rural which we visit house to house, we get an average of 10 teams per day, where we go looking for all those patients who still have a pending vaccination scheme ” , ended Tamara Rodriguez.
