Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) claimed to have carried out a series of tests Whole Genome Sequence (WGS) to anticipate the spread of the H10N3 bird flu virus in Indonesia. China has detected one human case of H10N3.
Director of Prevention and Control of Directly Infectious Diseases (P2PML) of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that the government has a number of surveillance measures in place to anticipate zoonotic diseases or viruses that are transmitted from animals since the discovery of bird flu in Indonesia in 2004.
“If bird flu, including H10N3, its variants are monitored continuously through WGS as well as the Covid-19 variant,” Nadia told CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (4/6).
Nadia stated that her party is also monitoring and vigilant when there are poultry deaths in large numbers in a number of farms.
His party has also coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
The Vaccination Spokesperson from the Ministry of Health also asked people who suffer from flu after processing poultry ingredients to be vigilant. In addition, spraying of disinfectants in the farm environment is actively carried out.
“So this surveillance from both sides, but especially events in humans generally begin umumnya outbreak on farm animals or wild poultry that are monitored by two K/L,” he said.
H10N3 is one type of low or relatively mild pathogenic virus. The virus found in these birds has little chance of spreading on a large scale.
However, recently, China’s National Health Commission (NHC) reported the findings of the first case of infection with the H10N3 bird flu virus in humans, on Tuesday (1/6) then. The bird flu virus variant was found in a 41-year-old man in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province.
The man has been hospitalized since April 28. He had a fever and other symptoms, he was then officially diagnosed with the H10N3 bird flu virus on 28 May. However, the NHC did not provide an explanation of how the man was infected with the bird flu virus.
