Ministry of Health and Sports Launches Communication Campaign to Promote Vaccination in Vulnerable Population Amid Covid-19 Surge

The Ministry of Health and Sports is developing a communication campaign through social networks and the media to promote vaccination, especially in the vulnerable population, after an increase in Covid-19 cases.

“We have a communication campaign that we are establishing to promote vaccination. It is asking the population, although the vaccines are free and available, the personnel, the supplies. The population comes and can be vaccinated,” said the Vice Minister of Epidemiology, Surveillance and Traditional Medicine, Max Enríquez.

According to the health authority, vaccination is a priority for the vulnerable population, people with underlying illnesses, pregnant women, children and older adults. “Promote vaccination in the vulnerable population, population with risk factors and if there is a person interested in their health who can approach a vaccination point,” she added.

For the moment, Enríquez rules out carrying out vaccination brigades, since Covid is a disease that is part of the diseases that are protected in our country. “It is part of the regular PAI scheme. “The population has to go to a health facility and ask for their vaccine.”
