Ministry of Health and Population Launches Free Health Checkup Initiative for School Students

The Ministry of Health and Population said that the initiative for early detection of Hepatitis C for middle school students provides all free medical examinations to check on the students’ general health.

The Ministry of Health and Population added that it can be detected Obesity Anemia and dwarfism for primary school students, free of charge.

The Ministry of Health and Population continued that cases of obesity, dwarfism, and anemia who are detected within the initiative for early detection of diseases (anemia, obesity, and dwarfism) among primary school students are transferred to health insurance clinics, to complete the necessary examinations and dispense treatment for free.

Dr. Muhammad Dahi, President of the General Authority for Health Insurance, said that these students are given a “follow-up card” containing their private data, in order to follow up on them periodically and check on their health condition continuously through health insurance clinics in all governorates of the Republic.

Dr. Tamer Samir, coordinator of the initiative for early detection of obesity, dwarfism, and anemia, pointed out that the medical teams participating in the initiative were trained on examination and diagnosis protocols, and were trained on infection control standards.
