The Ministry of Health and Population said: The value of examinations in specialized clinics in hospitals and therapeutic service centers in the morning and evening periods was determined in accordance with the provisions of Article (10) of the basic regulations for health facilities affiliated with local administration units. The value of examinations for economic treatment in the main units of primary health care was also determined.

The Ministry of Health and Population added that the cost of the examination for a general practitioner is 15 pounds, an assistant specialist is 20 pounds, a specialist is 25 pounds, and a consultant is 45 pounds, stressing that this enhances the presence of doctors in outpatient clinics, noting that the value of the examination is still modest compared to the examination in private hospitals.

Regarding the rules governing paid treatment in hospitals and therapeutic services centers, the regulations said: Hospitals and therapeutic services centers may receive economic fees for medical services in accordance with the provisions of these regulations. A no less than (25) percentage of the number of beds in the internal departments of the hospital and the therapeutic services center shall be allocated for free treatment in light of the established plan. He continued: Priority entitlement to free treatment goes to citizens who receive a Solidarity and Dignity pension, holders of integrated services cards, or families of martyrs, victims, missing persons, and those injured in military, terrorist, and security operations and their families, or based on the recommendation of the hospital’s social research committee, who do not have a health insurance or health care system in addition to emergency cases. These include accidents and critical cases that require rapid intervention to save the patient’s life or prevent the condition from worsening, provided that the diagnosis and treatment papers are later reviewed by the hospital director for approval.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the work mechanisms of health units, medical centers and health units have been organized to operate throughout the month of Ramadan from 9 to 2 pm, while the initiative is to develop health care services in 251 facilities starting on the 10th of Ramadan. He continued: The initiative to examine those about to get married operates from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at a rate of two centers in each department, in addition to the official times of the initiative, in order to facilitate the process of obtaining their papers for those about to get married.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population indicated that the progress of work in the evening clinics is being monitored at the governorate level, stressing that the evening clinics are an important national project that contributes to the sustainability of the health system, and provides comprehensive health care for citizens, and the specialties of evening clinics include (dental, surgery, urology, etc.) Ear and nose, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, children, physical therapy, surgery, children, diet, physical therapy, dermatology).

He revealed the medical services provided in women’s health units, within the initiative of the President of the Republic to support primary care units.
