Dr. Mabrouk Salem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Population in Matrouh, said that it was agreed to form a joint working group of preachers, clerics, and doctors, to deliver sermons and lectures to citizens in places of worship, gathering places, schools, and universities, to increase awareness of reproductive health methods, refute ideas and rumors, and how to deal with concerns raised. It is circulated among citizens without a scientific or religious basis.
This came during the meeting he held with the leaders of the Health Directorate, to emphasize the state’s efforts in the population issue, develop new mechanisms to deal with this issue, define roles and create an integrated climate between various departments in light of the visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Health and Population and the convening of the National Population Council, Matrouh branch. Pointing to the importance of the great role in raising awareness of the problem of overpopulation, on the individual and society, through various actions and activities, and working to sign many cooperation protocols with governmental and community agencies interested in the population issue, to raise community awareness of the seriousness of the population problem and interest in improving family characteristics.
He emphasized the role of rural women pioneers in reaching every Egyptian woman in every home, to provide advice and medical and awareness messages about family planning services and reproductive health services, to raise cultural and health awareness among women, and to make known the danger of population increase to the individual and society.
He explained that one of the duties of the medical team working in this regard is to raise awareness of the health problems that harm the family from repeated unregulated pregnancies and early marriage, which makes the girl unable to bear a child psychologically and physically, which causes danger to her life, as well as the fate of children who are born weak and incomplete and result in It causes many deformities and disabilities, in addition to the parents’ right to a healthy and peaceful life, pointing to the importance of the golden thousand days, that is, the first three years of a child’s life, as a period of spacing between one pregnancy and the next.
