Ministry of Health and Metropolitan Municipality of Lima Immunize Older Adults with Bivalent Vaccine against Covid-19

The Ministry of Health (Minsa), in coordination with the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, immunized the members of the Comprehensive Care Centers for the Elderly (Ciam) with the bivalent vaccine against covid-19.

Besides, offered vaccines against influenza and pneumococcus reported the director of Immunizations, María Elena Martínez Barrera, given the presence of cases of flu, colds, pneumonia and covid-19, in the country.

Also, he highlighted that the sector will continue to work jointly with other institutions to reach the established goal.

To this end, different external vaccination points have been activated, as well as brigades that go house to house and places crowded with people, to continue closing vaccination gaps in Metropolitan Lima.

To date, approximately 900,000 older adults have been vaccinated with the bivalent booster dose.

The campaign is carried out as part of the prevention policy of the government of President Dina Boluarte and the Minister of Health, César Vásquez, as well as an important public health strategy.
