CAIRO (Reuters) – Six people were killed and three wounded in an Israeli attack on a residential building in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said early on Saturday.
Tensions in the region have risen in recent weeks following a deadly rocket attack on the Golan Heights that Israel blamed on the Lebanese group Hezbollah. Israel responded by killing a top Hezbollah commander on the outskirts of Beirut.
Hezbollah also promised to respond to Israel, as Iran did, for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Tehran.
