The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Indonesia is in a seismically active zone. Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, followed by aftershocks, mudslides and tsunamis are possible.

“We advise travelers who plan to visit or are already in Indonesia to carefully follow the information disseminated in the local media and the expected weather conditions, as well as to follow the evacuation recommendations of the responsible services. At the same time, we invite travelers to contact tour operators and airlines in time to make sure that the announced situation does not affect the planned flight schedule,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on the official website.

The political situation in the country is stable, but there is a high threat of terrorism. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises to be extra careful during holidays – Christmas and New Year, Bali New Year (Nyepi), Easter and Independence Day on August 17. Travelers are invited to regularly follow information in the media about the development of the political and security situation in the country, as well as to make sure of the safety of the place of stay.

We draw your attention to the fact that terrorists choose places where a large number of people gather, especially foreigners – resorts, bars and restaurants, shopping centers and market places, as well as other places to carry out the attack.

We recommend taking special precautions when traveling to:

• Aceh (Aceh) Province,
• Central Sulawesi (Sulawesi Tengah) province, especially its Palu (Palu),
• Poso and Tentena regions,
• the province of Moluccas (Maluku), especially the region of its administrative center Ambon (Ambon),
