Ministry of Finance will increase the price of diesel for 190 large companies • La Nación

The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit already has the draft of a decree ready with which it will seek to increase the price of diesel for at least 190 large companies in Colombia. According to the ministry’s calculations, the price would go from $9,000 to $16,000 without a fuel subsidy.

Just when the price of gasoline continues to rise as a measure to correct the deficit in the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund, and drivers complain about the increase, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit has ready the draft of a decree with which it will seek to increase the price of diesel for 190 large companies in the country.

According to the decree, which would be ready before the end of the year, the impact on the increase in diesel will be for large companies that consume more than 20,000 gallons of diesel per month.

“The Ministries of Finance and Mines will establish, through an administrative act, the procedure to follow for determining the international parity price that must be used as income to the producer within the defined differential mechanism,” the decree states.

Likewise, the Ministry of Finance clarified that this differential mechanism will not apply to energy generating companies located in non-interconnected areas, nor to land mass transportation systems.
