Ministry of Finance Clarifies Debts of ‘Image Group’ Not Related to CMNP

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance) provided an explanation regarding the statement by the Director General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance, Rionald Silaban, who stated that the ‘Citra Group’ still has hundreds of billions of rupiah in debt to the state.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, Yustinus Prastowo, said that the ‘Citra Group’ debt mentioned by Rionald Silaban was not related to PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk (CMNP).

The “Image Group” referred to by the Ministry of Finance are 3 companies affiliated with Siti Hardijanti Rukmana or Tutut Suharto. However, Yustinus did not specify the names of the three companies.

“Three companies are affiliated with SHR, not CMNP,” he said, to Kompas.com, Tuesday (13/6/2023).

Yustinus further stated that the total debt value of the three companies to the state was IDR 775 billion.

This debt is related to the rescue action through the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) fund.

“It’s true (the debt) is related to BLBI. These 3 companies are bank debtors rescued by the government,” he said.

Previously, the Director General of State Wealth of the Ministry of Finance, Rionald Silaban, said that entities that are members of the ‘Image Group’ still owe hundreds of billions of rupiah in debt to the state. This debt is related to BLBI funds.

“We ourselves still have bills from 3 Citra Group companies. Hundreds of billions,” he said, at the DPR RI Building, Monday (12/6/2023).

The remaining responsibility of the Citra Group is one of the reasons the Ministry of Finance has not paid government debt to CMNP.

Rionald realized that the government’s obligation to pay debts to CMNP had legal force. However, with the obligations that the Citra Group has to the government, the Ministry of Finance will still conduct a review of the billing submitted by Jusuf Hamka.

“The point is I want to make sure that those who own the country have completed it or not, otherwise it will be a hassle,” he said.
