The Ministry of Education recently organized a five-day training programme entitled ‘Building and Programming Robots (Fischer Technik and Matatalab)’ at the Wyndham Garden Hotel Muscat. The initiative aimed to introduce 26 trainees from various governorates to the STEM programme offered by the renowned German company Fischer Technik.
The programme provided an in-depth understanding of robot components, programming, and assembly, boosting the participants’ scientific competence and exposing them to cutting-edge practices. Discussions during the training revolved around topics such as the functionality of each kit, its applicability for students, ongoing projects, and participation in international competitions.
Amna al Saadi, an Innovation and Olympian senior specialist from Al Buraimi Governorate, praised the training programme for its ability to simplify scientific concepts and make learning enjoyable. Al Saadi believes that it will foster a greater passion for education among students.
Abdullah al Abri, an Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Senior Specialist from Al Batinah South Governorate, emphasized the programme’s practical approach in creating models and projects related to STEM. He highlighted that participants will gain a diverse skill set in this field.
The Ministry of Education’s Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads successfully executed this training programme with the aim of enhancing scientific knowledge and skills among educators and students. By introducing modern technology and hands-on activities, the ministry is paving the way for a more engaging and effective learning experience.
