On November 20, 2020, the Ministry of Education took further measures according to the Thuringian step-by-step plan for schools and kindergartens. So change in the cities Arnstadt, Ilmenau and in the community Großbreitenbach (all Ilm district) as well as in the whole Sonneberg district all general and vocational schools in state and independent sponsorship in the restricted regular operation with increased protection against infection (level YELLOW). The reason is the significantly increased number of corona infections in the affected areas.
According to the Thuringian step-by-step plan, the YELLOW level includes various measures that can be taken individually (principle of the instrument box). In this case it is ordered:
- In grades 1 to 6, permanent, fixed and separate learning groups are formed at the schools concerned, to which the same educational team is assigned. This can lead to restrictions in the school and care operations: Daily schooling of at least four hours must be provided. For primary school pupils, limited childcare options of at least six hours, taking into account the teaching time, must be guaranteed from Monday to Friday; A supervision time of eight hours, taking into account the teaching time, is to be aimed for.
- In grades 7 to 12, permanent, fixed and separate learning groups are formed according to the above principle, or a minimum distance of 1.5 meters in the classrooms is introduced. This can lead to a change from face-to-face teaching and home learning. For pupils who do not take part in face-to-face classes, home learning must be ensured. The school management decides on details.
The regulation comes into force on Monday, November 23rd and is valid until December 6th, 2020. The measures of the YELLOW level for schools in the City of Altenburg will also be extended until December 6, 2020.
