Starting from the new semester, even if you and your family members are waiting for the results of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) diagnostic test, you should not come to school.
The Ministry of Education held a video conference with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 21st to check the preparation for school opening on the 9th and discuss ways to support the school site.
In the newly distributed school quarantine guidelines by the Ministry of Education, if a student or a faculty member has undergone a diagnostic test for suspicious symptoms of the student or a partner, it has been added to stop attending school or going to work until the results are obtained.
A special monitoring period is operated for two weeks after the school starts on the 2nd of the following month. This is to analyze and prepare for the occurrence of suspicious symptoms by school.
The number of support personnel dedicated to school quarantine, which was supported at the level of 40,000 at the beginning of school in May last year, will also be increased to 54,000 from the new semester. They are responsible for checking fever at the entrance or providing life guidance to keep distances and quarantine rules in corridors and catering rooms.
Dormitory schools, which recruit students on a national level, are allowed to receive free examinations before entering. First of all, the test is preemptive, and if the social distancing level is upgraded to 2.5 or higher, it is periodically tested.
The Ministry of Education also urged students to adhere to the principle of’prohibition of private gatherings for more than 5 people’ in all private gathering activities, including club activities, and to complete self-diagnosis through the app or web from the 23rd.
Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Eun-hye and Minister of Education said, “For students to be safe from Corona 19, cooperation at home is also very important.”
