Ministry of Education Ensures Progress of Educational Infrastructure Projects in Boyacá

In the second Technical Committee, the progress of projects that the Ministry of Education executes with the School Infrastructure Financing Fund in Boyacá were reviewed.

Tunja, July 27, 2023. (UACP). The Ministry of Education continues to work hand in hand with the educational communities and authorities in monitoring the works carried out by the Ministry of National Education, with the Educational Infrastructure Financing Fund -FFIE- in Boyacá territory.

This is how the Second Technical Monitoring Committee of the -FFIE- projects was completed in the main sectorial see. In total there are 26 projects, of which 16 have been delivered and 10 remain pending.

During the day called by the Secretary of Education of Boyacá, the commitments acquired by the -FFIE- were monitored for the completion of the 10 missing schools and attention to the failures that have occurred in the 16 schools that already they were delivered.

As reported by the entity, the 10 projects have construction contractors and certificates of approval of the guarantee policies, a procedure that had delayed the start of several works, but, with this positive balance, eight educational institutions will be able to deliver at the end of this year.

On the part of the department, the financial closing of the projects in execution is ensured with their fundamental complementary works, with investments that exceed 7 billion pesos in this term.

On the other hand, partial infrastructure works have been put into operation in the municipalities of Paipa and Santa Rosa de Viterbo, in order to improve the conditions of the students, while in Boavita and Chiscas the completion of the works is expected in the month of October.

For their part, the mayors reinforced their commitment to continue supporting the connections of public services and certifications necessary to complete the projects satisfactorily.

The meeting was led by the Boyacá Secretary of Education, Elided Ofelia Niño Paipa, and the Educational Infrastructure Advisor, Marcela Blanco, and included the participation of delegates from the Comptroller General of the Republic, representatives, mayors, heads of Planning, supervisors, parents, students, teachers and rectors of the 26 educational institutions that have been affected for more than five years due to non-compliance in the delivery of educational infrastructure.

From the sectorial, the follow-up committees will continue to these works, in such a way that they manage to reach a successful conclusion and remain in optimal conditions.
