Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Deploys Ais Machine to Block Porn Links on Facebook

JAKARTA – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) has ruled on the incident of massive tagging of links containing pornography on Facebook.

The Kominfo has operated a tracking machine or Ais to protect itself from negative content on social media.

“The results of the Facebook investigation show that the mass tagging occurs randomly and is not directed at specific individuals, and is a phishing attempt in which users are directed to access the tagged link to them,” said the spokesperson for Kominfo, Dedy Permadi, Monday, April 26.

In addition, he said that currently Facebook has removed the pages involved in this phishing attempt, and has blocked the publication of suspicious links on the Facebook platform.

In order to prevent phishing attempts, the Kominfo urges the public not to access suspicious links or messages, and to maintain the security of the account.

“Additionally, maintain account security by reassuring security and privacy settings across all of your social media accounts, chat applications, and emails,” he concluded.

Previously, several Facebook accounts were known to have received tags from unknown people. This activity is suspected of being a phishing campaign.

Phishing itself is a technique for accessing user accounts – where after the user visits a site or page that has been distributed, it turns out that the page contains malware that is harmful to the account and can spread to friends on social networks.

To avoid mass tagging of phishing, Facebook users are advised to change the notification settings of the accounts that tag them. Users simply click on the bell or notification icon in the upper right corner.

After that, click on the three dot icon on the right and select the notification settings. Then click on the sign menu and then switch to the friend option to avoid unknown person account labels.
