Chimbote Online.- The Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) approved the Regulation of Law No. 32128 to establish the requirements, stages and procedures that regulate, in a unique and exceptional manner, the internal competition for change of category of personnel of non-commissioned officers of weapons and services with profession of lawyer, for his assimilation as captain.
This process will be carried out under the principles of impartiality and suitability, with the objective of selecting candidates who demonstrate knowledge, vocation, physical fitness and personal values. The execution of the contest will be in charge of the Directorate of Education and Doctrine of the PNP.
According to Supreme Decree No. 013-2024, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, applicants must meet specific requirements, among them, having a law degree registered with the National Superintendency of Higher University Education (SUNEDU), having less than 40 years old, prove a minimum of ten years of uninterrupted service in the PNP and be registered in the Bar Association, with current authorization to practice professionally.
Furthermore, they may not have disciplinary sanctions or police, criminal or judicial records.
Competition stages
The selection process will consist of six eliminatory stages. The first phase will evaluate the height and weight of the applicant, according to institutional parameters. In the second stage, exams will be carried out to ensure that the applicant has a good state of physical and mental health.
Once these phases have been passed, the applicant will go on to a physical fitness test, which will consist of swimming 25 meters and completing a 1,000-meter dash race. The last two stages will include a knowledge assessment and a personal interview, in which the skills and competencies necessary for the captain category will be assessed.
This contest seeks to guarantee the incorporation of trained non-commissioned officers with legal training in the PNP officer corps, contributing to the strengthening of the institution and its professional development. (Source: Andina)
