Minister Varank explained: There will be no rent for two months in technoparks

The Ministry of Industry and Technology Covid-19 added a new one to the measures it took due to the epidemic risk.

According to the ministry statement, on March 15, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, Treasury and Finance, and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, made a joint decision, making it possible for staff working in technoparks, R&D and design centers to work from home until the end of April.

This time, the Ministry of Industry and Technology decided not to receive a lease for 2 months from the incubation companies in the technoparks and commercial enterprises such as restaurants and cafes. In addition, it is aimed to delay the 2-month lease payments of R&D and design companies in these campuses and to facilitate the payment plan.

Minister Varank, whose comments were included in the statement, stated that they took a series of measures as the Ministry after the Corona Virus Coordination Meeting held under the presidency of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Stating that the technopark ecosystem is of great importance for value-added production, Varank stated that preserving the talents there are the main priorities.

Varank pointed out that they are working in detail on all alternatives in order to protect the sectors and workforce against the Covid-19 threat, and said:

1.2 BILLION LIRAL GRANT

Reminding that the ministry has provided a grant of 1.2 billion lira to technoparks so far, Varank made the following assessment:

“Thanks to this, an ecosystem has been built from scratch. Now technopark is responsible for our management companies. Our management companies will fulfill their responsibility in combating Covid-19 risk in the best way. The support offered by our state will be much more effective with the cooperation of the private sector. and we will overcome these problems by minimizing the risk with a national stance. ”
