Van Quickenborne wants some more tackle excesses, which means that notaries who work with promoters will charge much less costs when selling a house in a new allotment. There are far fewer searches for virtually identical sales deeds, is the reasoning here.
In the future, the consumer will clearer overview of costs where fees, expenses to third parties and administrative costs will be clearly stated. “Every website of notaries must state what the rates are,” says Van Quickenborne. He also thinks it is crucial that notaries state clearly what it is mandatory to engage them for and when not. “People think they have to go to the notary for everything,” he explains. “But for an inheritance declaration, for example, you are not obliged to go to a notary.”
If starting entrepreneurs To provide better support, the rates for drawing up basic statutes will be reduced by about 30 percent. “That 1,500 euros will be an all-in price of 1,000 euros. This makes it easier to start a business as a self-employed person,” said the minister.
Van Quickenborne also wants to make the profession of notary more attractive. For example, if you do not want to become an independent civil-law notary, you can opt for the status of added notary, a civil-law notary employee who can act as a fully-fledged civil-law notary. The latter reforms are a very good thing for Fednot. “From 2023, there will be a minimum of 120 newcomers. This will make the notarial profession extra accessible,” says Sap.
