Tamara Van Ark, minister for medical care, has to rest for a while due to neck complaints. Van Ark reports on Twitter that she should take six weeks off on a doctor’s advice.
During that time, her duties will be performed by Minister De Jonge and State Secretary Blokhuis.
“I hope to have recovered enough in September to be able to get back to work,” writes Van Ark, who is also a member of the ‘core team’ that deals with the corona measures. The cabinet will meet again from mid-August.
Van Ark wishes the Dutch athletes at the Olympic Games and later the Paralympic Games every success in the coming period. “Despite the difficult circumstances, we can be proud of the achievements of the first days and hopefully we can celebrate many more successes!”
