Information about the hospitalization of the Minister of Health was confirmed to Seznam Zprávám by department spokesman Ondřej Jakob.
“The information I have is fine. I assume that he will return to the work program in a matter of days,” said Jakob.
A spokesman for the department did not want to give details about the nature of the intervention. According to Seznam Zpráv sources, however, there is speculation about an appendectomy. The minister still remains in hospital.
Vlastimil Válek was supposed to take part in a press conference in Brno this morning on the modernization of energy systems at the St. Anna University Hospital. Hospital spokesman Jiří Erlebach told reporters that the minister canceled the program for personal reasons.
This week, Válek had, for example, Tuesday’s coalition meeting regarding digitization or Wednesday’s government meeting, where, according to the program, his department does not present any item.
