Minister V Muraleedharan slams Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan | V Muraleedharan against Speaker P Sriramakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister V Muraleedharan has criticized Speaker P Sriramakrishnan. V Muraleedharan accused the Speaker of tarnishing the image of the Assembly.

‘The state assembly today witnessed the rarity of bringing a no-confidence motion against the speaker for non-political reasons. The no-confidence motion was tabled against the backdrop of anti-national activities being investigated by central agencies, including the Speaker’s Additional Private Secretary.

The allegations against the Speaker are that the CPM-led government’s nepotism and mismanagement are coming to light, even as the CPM is relieved that it has survived the no – confidence motion against the Speaker in the House after 17 years. The no-confidence motion was filed by the Speaker of the House on charges of having links with the dollar and gold smuggling syndicates. Speaker Shri Ramakrishnan has taken steps to tarnish the sanctity of the Assembly by associating with groups carrying out immoral activities against the country.

The Speaker has forgotten that he is a person holding a constitutional position. There are allegations against the Speaker, including the renovation of the Assembly Hall, which cost Kerala around Rs 100 crore even when Kerala was in debt. V Muraleedharan said, “It is clear that the CPM leadership is defending itself by raising political allegations against the investigating agencies without examining the allegations leveled against the Speaker.”
