Saxony-Anhalt Business Award 2024
Magdeburg. Saxony-Anhalt is looking for the best and most innovative companies and start-ups in the state. Sven Schulze, Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, praises the Saxony-Anhalt Business Award 2024 The aim is to recognize and highlight the strong achievements of our entrepreneurs and founders. Minister Sven Schulze is therefore calling on everyone who contributes to the strength of our economy with courage and creativity to apply and take part in the competition.
Saxony-Anhalt is in the fast lane
Minister Sven Schulze emphasises the importance of small and medium-sized companies for the region: “Our economy is shaped by small and medium-sized companies that make great things possible. Our start-ups enrich the market with strong ideas. Together they are the heart of our state and help to further strengthen Saxony-Anhalt as a business location and to put our state further into the fast lane. With the Saxony-Anhalt Business Award, we want to make these successes that are emerging here in our state visible. I therefore warmly invite all entrepreneurs and start-ups to take part in the competition.”
Recognition and motivation for outstanding achievements
The Saxony-Anhalt Business Award 2024 recognizes the innovative work and commitment of entrepreneurs and founders in Saxony-Anhalt. It should also serve as an incentive and recognition for managers and employees to continue to master the current challenges with new ideas and great commitment. The award also shows how important the economy is for Saxony-Anhalt.
Conditions of participation
Companies: Small and medium-sized companies (up to 250 employees) that have their place of business and headquarters in Saxony-Anhalt and can demonstrate special achievements or projects in the previous or current year are eligible to participate.
Start-ups: Eligible to participate are founders who have their place of business and headquarters in Saxony-Anhalt, who have founded their company within the last five years and who have an innovative focus.
Up to 15,000 euros in prize money possible
In addition to prize money (Companies €15,000, start-ups €10,000) The winners receive a certificate and an award. They will also be included in the state’s communication measures as ambassadors of success and will be allowed to use the award logo as a “seal” for their own communication. The award ceremony will take place on November 19, 2024 in Magdeburg.
Participation is free. The winners will be honored by Minister Sven Schulze at a high-profile event.
Application process
Competition entries can until September 2, 2024 (midnight) Interested companies and founders are asked to fill out the online form on the website in full. To support the application, additional documents can be attached using the upload function.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation is based on specific criteria:
Companies: overall economic development (40%), innovation and/or modernization (15%), securing and developing skilled workers (30%), responsibility for the region (15%).
Starting a business: market demand and growth potential (40%), innovation and/or modernization (30%), securing and developing skilled workers (15%), responsibility for the region (15%).
The selection takes place during an official jury meeting with technical experts as well as representatives from business, chambers, associations and the media.

About the Saxony-Anhalt Business Award
The Saxony-Anhalt Business Prize will be awarded every two years from 2024 and honors outstanding achievements by small and medium-sized companies as well as innovative start-ups. The award promotes awareness and recognition of economic successes in the state and supports the further positive development of the regional economy.
