“Minister Saboto Caesar attends Global Food Conference in Vietnam to tackle crises facing humanity”

Minister Saboto Caesar attends Global Food Conference in Vietnam with stakeholders from around the world. The Fourth Global Conference of the One Planet Network’s Sustainable Food Systems Program, held in Hanoi from April 24th to 27th, focused on building sustainable, resilient, healthy, and inclusive agrifood systems to tackle the multiple crises facing humanity. The conference was organized by the United Nations Environment Program in coordination with other governmental and civil society organizations, including Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. During the conference, Minister Caesar and colleagues from several continents met with the Prime Minister of Vietnam to discuss food production systems.

IICA, alongside AGRA, Grow Asia, and the Food Action Alliance, co-convened an Interregional Ministerial Roundtable on Digitalization and Investment for the Transformation of Food Systems on April 25th, where ministers from various countries shared national and regional experiences in designing and implementing digital solutions to transform food systems.

IICA works for the fulfillment and promotion of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and as an organization advocating for greater South-South cooperation, it pursues relevant actions to promote closer engagement between the Americas, Africa, and Asia, contributing to ensuring global food security.

Ernesto Cooke, a senior journalist with the St. Vincent Times, covered the conference, focusing on local and international issues regarding global food systems.
