Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Juris Pūce (AP) has received the results of the Covid-19 test and they are negative, the Minister announced on the social platform “Twitter”.
“I must say that it is gratifying. According to the law, I will be in quarantine until Tuesday of next week,” the entry said.
It has already been reported that on Tuesday Pūce announced that he had been in contact with a person infected with Covid-19, therefore he had been quarantined.
“I have received a message that I was in contact with a Covid-19 positive person on Sunday. From now on I will be in quarantine, waiting for instructions from the SPKC on what to do next. When I send, I will go for a test. I continue to perform my duties remotely,”
Agnese Vārpiņa, the Minister’s Adviser on Communication, told the Agency that due to this situation, the Minister did not go on a previously planned business trip to Luxembourg, where a meeting of European Union environment ministers was planned.
As Pūce mentioned, the Ministry will be represented at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Environment of the European Union by Alda Ozola, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, and legally by Alise Balode, Deputy Permanent Representative of Latvia to the European Union (EU). is the majority of EU sectoral policy issues, including environmental issues.
