/ world today news/ Finance Minister Petar Chobanov will defend the budget update today before President Rosen Plevneliev, “Standart” learned.

The two will talk face to face this afternoon at “Dondukov” 2, the meeting being the initiative of financier #1. He has asked to speak with Plevneliev and his financial advisers to argue the important points in the update.

Chobanov will come to the head of state with the estimates for social payments and money for business, which must be released immediately. “Let them discuss the specific reasons that necessitate the updating of the budget, because if there is a veto, who will be responsible for the delayed payments”, commented Economy Minister Dragomir Stoynev. In the last days before the vacation, the parliament finally voted on the budget update.

But BSP and DPS MPs were instructed to be on standby during their break. The warning from the party leaders came because of the danger that Plevneliev could veto the new budget. “We are ready for an extraordinary session of the parliament”, commented MPs. And they’ve made it clear they’ll be voting “for” the update again. But they specified that before entering the plenary hall, the veto must also pass through the relevant committees.
