The Minister of the Interior (Mininter) supervised the work carried out by police and security guards to detect and intervene in searches and prevent the commission of crimes.
The Minister of the Interior, Walter Ortiz Acosta, participated in a mega-operation called High Impact and identity control in the district of Surquillo, mainly in the area of Casas Huertas and the popular Villa Victoria urbanization, carried out in the early hours of this Friday, the 5th. of April.
This police action included the participation of 250 members of the Emergency Division of the National Police, the Traffic and Road Safety Division and the Special Services Unit.
Prior to the operation, the Minister of the Interior met with the head of the Lima Police Region and the mayor at the headquarters of the southern commune, to coordinate strategies to reinforce police patrols in critical points of the district.
“We are going to do more sustained work. We have offered the mayor our support with more motorcycles to strengthen street patrols. Soon, we will draw up an agreement to place more police personnel in the area,” she said.
Ortiz Acosta added that he will promote these works in other parts of Lima and the interior of the country.
During his visit, the Minister of the Interior expressed the commitment of his sector to work jointly with the mayor, to continue formulating actions and initiatives that guarantee tranquility and peaceful coexistence in the neighborhoods of that district.
