Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi Clarifies Stance on Homophobia and Coming Out

“Homophobic? It’s absurd, I’m sorry you say this about me, it’s very far from my way of being. We can discuss the vocabulary to use. Instead of saying choices I could have said orientation but the spirit of respect for the individuality”. Thus the Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi in an interview with the press.
“Everyone owes respect for identity so I would like a thousand coming out”, he adds, stating that Jankto was right to clarify his orientation, “and I hope that everyone feels free. I have already contacted the company but I will also talk to the boy. I will tell him that I am happy with what he said. If there are a hundred coming outs, it will only be positive, it will mean that we are more civil and open. I will do whatever it takes to clarify my position on this matter” .
Regarding the ostentation that he finds annoying, Abodi says: “I was referring to Pride and I would like these two topics to be kept distinct. We are in a democracy. Pride must be what the organizers decide it is but I hope to be able to express a sentiment in the comparisons of certain aesthetic excesses. If the organizers believe that these excesses can find a place in the Prides, that’s fine with me but I can’t take away the possibility of saying that some ostentations are excessive, that’s my thought”.
