Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) as well Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini responding to the question of his name being mentioned by the Chairman Megawati Sukarnoputri in his speech at the 50th anniversary of PDIP. Risma also shared her close relationship with Megawati.
Risma admitted that she often consults with Megawati regarding the problems she faces. According to him, Megawati often provides input.
“Indeed, he often talks to me. So if there are problems, I also consult with you. And you give lots and lots of input,” said Risma in Kalimalang, South Tambun, Bekasi, Sunday (15/1/2023).
Even so, Risma was surprised because there were still many who looked at Megawati in one eye. In fact, he continued, Megawati was extraordinarily smart in dealing with every problem.
“Many people, I’m sorry, might look down on you. Mother is extraordinarily smart. So I learned a lot from her. So when Surabaya was often hit by tornadoes, Mother said, ‘Madam, plant this type of plant’ I plant it. Now clear. There is no (effect of the tornado),” he said.
Risma revealed that a number of problems in Surabaya when she was mayor were not long resolved because of Megawati’s solution. One of them is the problem that fishing boats in Surabaya are often damaged due to tornadoes.
“In the past, fishing boats often broke, so every year I had to help repair the fishermen’s care. Thank God, we planted Pine Shrimp which my mother advised (resolved),” said Risma.
“Then Mother also advised me, ‘Madam please take care of it’, Mother said. Don’t just concentrate on the data (related to assistance). But also look for people who haven’t been recorded, that’s what I then went down to under the bridge, I blusukan below, where graves. I went to cemeteries in Jakarta. Then we also looked for people who, what are they called, carts, were sleeping in carts.
It was from there that Risma was more active in getting down. He admits that from that job he can see the social situation of society from a different side.
“So don’t concentrate on your data, look behind your data. That’s why I took it down. So it turned out to be true, many of them don’t have ID cards, don’t have this. So then we have to do a recording so they can enter now,” he said.
Previously, Megawati revealed that she often met Social Minister Tri Rismaharini. Megawati admits that Risma often confides in her about the number of poor people in Indonesia.
“Ma’am Risma, when she comes to me, I think we want to laugh, not cry, ‘Ma’am iki piye yo Bu yo, it turns out that it’s okay to be a highlight, Miss’ (Ma’am, how about this, Ma’am, it turns out that there are so many I’m miserable, ma’am), I’m crying, I’m crying because I’m a woman,” Megawati said during a speech at the 50th anniversary of PDIP at JIExpo, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/1).
Megawati said she often advised Risma to pay attention to underprivileged people who don’t have a place to live. Mega asked Risma to put them in a proper place.
“Because I said, ‘Ma’am, it’s under the bridge, mbok yo, you can see ngopo to yo, anyway, if they please lift it, lift it, put it in the proper place’,” said Mega.
