Minister of Public Health Visits New Health Post for COVID, Flu, and Pneumonia Vaccinations

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, visited the new health post located in the Tucuman microcenter, where from now on the community can receive calendar vaccines against COVID, flu and pneumonia.

“In addition to the traditional vaccination nodes, we have decided to go out with the Vaccination Brigade. For this reason, today we are in the Muñecas and Mendoza pedestrian street with a health post where blood pressure is controlled and vaccinations are given. You will find here immunization against influenza, anticovid and pneumonia. All the necessary inoculations, especially in the middle of winter. If we want to take care of ourselves and prevent serious diseases such as COVID and flu, this health post in the center is available from now on. Coming soon also at the bus terminal, “said the head of the health portfolio in this regard.

Likewise, the minister recalled that the flu vaccine is mandatory, scheduled and free for all people over 65 years of age, those under that age but who have an underlying disease, pregnant women, and children between six months and two years of age. However, he explained, all people who want to get vaccinated, even if they are outside of these groups, can do so.

Then, the person in charge of the Vaccination Brigade and the Family Vaccination Center, Sandra Ibáñez, said: “This will be a fixed position on the Muñecas and Mendoza pedestrian streets. We will have vaccines for people ages five and older. We are talking about calendar immunization and for older adults, such as hepatitis B, tetanus, flu, pneumococcus. We invite the community to come to this booth. It is a strategy of the Ministry of Public Health to be here and in all possible places so that the community comes to get vaccinated ”.

The referent also explained that you can still receive the inoculation against the flu: “We are on time. The flu vaccine protects us until next year when the new strain comes out. This is a strategic point, because the mother spends here with her children, the adults who go out to work, those who go out to do paperwork or go shopping. Immunizing ourselves requires a few minutes a day and it is very important. You only need to bring your ID.

Testimonials

The neighbor of the San Cayetano neighborhood, Blanca Espeche, recounted her experience: “This activity seems perfect to me. I came to the center for a paperwork and I took advantage of the fact that I don’t have a cold and went to get vaccinated. I am 69 years old. I got the flu shot.”

Later, María Ester Ramos recounted: “I came to get physiotherapy for knee pain, I just passed by here and found this stand to get vaccinated. So I got the flu and pneumonia shot. This is very good because many times we cannot get to hospitals or vaccination centers, and this comes to solve it. I congratulate you for everything you do for the population.”
