Pensions will be increased, on January 1, by at least the inflation rate, says the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu.
“We have a law. We have a law in place. (…) At least with the inflation index, definitely they will be changed “, said Marcel Ciolacu, when asked if they will be increased pensionsle.
More precisely, the leader of the Social Democrats declared that the law in force stipulates that the pensions of Romanians should increase “at least with the inflation index”.
Asked what will happen to the pensions from January 1, the Minister of Labor, Marius Budai, explained:
“The president has made a statement in accordance with the law that says that if he predicts a certain increase from January 1 or an annual increase with the inflation rate and 50% of the increase in gross salary will be respected.
This does not rule out an increase this year and does not rule out an analysis of the current government on all the measures and social packages this year.
(…) We are extremely attentive to the evolution of the figures and we will take the necessary measures to protect the purchasing power of the vulnerable categories where the pensioners also fall, “said the Minister of Labor, Marius Budai, at Synthesis of the Day of the Antenna3.
