Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, announced the success of the trial of recovering plasma injections of 30 cases of the newly infected Coronavirus “Covid-19”.
In a statement today, Saturday, the Minister appealed to those recovering from the Corona virus after 14 days of their recovery, to go to the nearest blood transfusion service center affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Population in the governorates, to donate plasma to contribute to the treatment of critical cases of Corona virus patients, as the blood plasma of the recovered contains Antibody to the virus.
This came during a visit by the Minister of Health to Al-Sahel Teaching Hospitals, Al-Matareya Education, in addition to the medical convoy to distribute bags of preventive supplies and medicines in the (study) area, within the framework of monitoring the progress of work and receiving cases suspected of being infected with the new Corona virus, and ensuring that the best medical service is provided to patients.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, said that the minister started her tour by inspecting the outpatient clinics and reception department at Al-Sahel Teaching Hospital, to follow up the work progress and receive cases of coronavirus infection, adding that the total clinical capacity of the hospital is 481 beds and is operating at full capacity throughout the 24 An hour to serve Corona Virus patients, noting that the Minister directed all hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Population to work in full capacity to serve Corona Virus patients.
He added that the Minister listened to the patients present in the hospital and their families, and directed the necessity of conducting a clinical evaluation of suspected cases of infection with the new Corona virus as a top priority in all hospitals in all governorates of the Republic, and the adoption of the results of clinical examination, chest radiology, and laboratory analyzes, as a means of diagnosing suspected cases of infection with the new Corona virus (Covid-19), and start receiving treatment immediately according to the treatment protocol followed according to the health status of each patient, until the result of the swab appears, in order to preserve the lives of citizens.
