Minister of Health, Rodolfo Farfán, announces that Phase 1 vaccination includes teachers, student counselors and custodians

The Minister of Health, Rodolfo Farfán, announced that he has held meetings with his education peer, Montserrat Creamer, within the framework of the Ecuador plan get vaccinated against him covid-19.

The announcement was made tonight, Saturday March 6, 2021, on his personal Twitter account. There he stated that in the Phase 1 vaccination will include “teaching staff, student counselors, and custodians.”

Phase 1 includes health personnel that it was not included in Phase 0 of the entire public and private network; Police and Armed Forces; teachers; vulnerable population, elderly people; waste collection staff; and personnel from strategic sectors (public services, justice and complementary security).

According to him Ministry of Health, Phase 1 will cover around two million people, with people from the seniors 57% of the target group.

Farfán was inaugurated as minister on March 1, once his predecessor, Juan Carlos Zevallos, resign and travel to the US, without giving answers about who benefited in Phase 0.
