Books – Ahmed Gomaa:
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, issued a ministerial decision limiting the dispensing of treatment to those attending morning outpatient clinics in facilities affiliated with local administration units to one free item from the list of essential medications to treat the condition.
Resolution No. 93 of 2024 stipulates: Treatment for those attending morning outpatient clinics in health facilities affiliated with local administration units is limited to one free item from the list of essential medications to treat the condition, provided that the department concerned with pharmaceutical affairs at the Ministry of Health is responsible for issuing a list of those medications to be approved. Updated periodically to take into account developments and availability rates of items.
According to the basic regulations for health facilities affiliated with local administration units, all hospitals and treatment services centers affiliated with the Directorate of Health Affairs in the governorates are subject to the provisions of the texts contained in those regulations.
In late February, the Ministers of Health and Local Development issued the executive regulations for the Law of Health Facilities Affiliated to Local Administration Units, which bore No. 75 of 2024, and pursuant to it, Resolution No. 239 of 1997 was cancelled, and every decision that contravened the provisions of this decision and the basic regulations accompanying it were cancelled.
