Minister of Health Ensures that there is no Monkeypox in Indonesia : Okezone Lifestyle

ATTENDANCE monkeypox atau monkey pox in the world has become a public concern, including in Indonesia. So far, there has been no progress on the monkeypox case.

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that his party would continue to monitor. To find out the spread of monkeypox cases, where this disease can be transmitted.

“The monkey pox has not been seen, we will continue to monitor it,” said Minister of Health Budi in Jakarta, Friday (3/6/2022).

According to the world health organization (WHO), the monkeypox virus is transmitted from one person to another through close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets, and contaminated materials such as bedding.

Monkeypox is usually self-limiting but is severe in some individuals, such as children, pregnant women or people with immune suppression due to other health conditions.

According to Dr. Robert Soertandio, SpA, M.Si.Med, a pediatrician, monkeypox can be transmitted from human to human. So he reminded how important it is to maintain health protocols, such as the 5 M.

“So take precautions like the Covid 19 infection (5M),” said Dr Robert.
