Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, reviewed the analysis of the epidemiological data of the new corona virus in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as the most age-old category affected was the age group from 50 to 59 years, representing 22% of the total infected, adding that 94% of the deceased were in The age group is over 50 years old, and 100% of the deceased were suffering from chronic diseases or tumors.
The Minister of Health indicated, in a statement this evening, that the percentage of males reached 61% of the total injured, and the proportion of females reached 39%, as the percentage of the injury of children under ten years reached 2% of the total number of injuries, pointing out that the average length of stay in Hospitals from the time of admission until full recovery reached 8 days, confirming the continued stability of the epidemiological situation in Egypt compared to the global epidemiological situation.
She also appealed to the minister coming from outside Egypt and all those involved in positive cases and their families, to follow the measures taken by the state and the Ministry of Health and Population instructions for isolation for a period of 14 days, which contributes to reducing the number of daily injuries and deaths.
Mujahid reiterated not to monitor any cases infected or suspected of being infected with the new Corona virus in all governorates of the Republic except what has been announced, indicating that once any infections appear, they will be announced immediately, in full transparency according to the international health regulations, and in coordination with the World Health Organization.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates, follow the situation first-hand regarding the “emerging corona” virus, and take all necessary precautions against any viruses or infectious diseases, as the hotline “105” and “15335” has been allocated to receive citizens’ inquiries about a virus Corona emerging and infectious diseases.
Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 22 cases of those infected with Coronavirus have been discharged from the Isolation Hospital, including a Malaysian woman and 21 Egyptians, after receiving the necessary medical care and their recovery in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 179 cases to date .
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, said that the number of cases whose laboratory results were converted from positive to negative for Corona virus (Covid-19) increased to 221 cases, including the 179 recovering.
He added that 69 new cases that had positive laboratory analyzes of the virus had been registered, all of them Egyptians, including those returning from abroad in addition to those who had contacts with positive cases that had been discovered and announced previously, as part of the ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 6 cases, including Jordanian nationality, and 5 Egyptians.
