Minister of Education: Preparing 8,563 schools for the presidential elections…and their students are on leave – Youm7

Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with the directors Educational directorates In various governorates; To determine the implementation of the educational directorates’ directives and decisions regarding the discipline of the educational process.

The Minister welcomed the attendees to this meeting, which comes within a series of periodic meetings. To follow up on the discipline of the educational process and improve it in all governorates of the Republic.

The Minister directed the preparation of 8,563 schools designated as electoral committees, directing the directorates of the directorates to ensure that these schools are maintained and appear in a proper appearance, and stressing the need for the attendance and regularity of all teachers during the period from (10-12) next December, the period of the elections, while developing a plan to determine a place for a gathering. Teachers and workers in schools designated as electoral committees during this period in the school closest to them are appropriate, and only students in these schools receive leave during the election period. He also directed that teachers intensify teaching the curricula scheduled during the election period only in schools designated as electoral committees only.

The Minister praised the implementation of the training program, “Activating the school’s role in enhancing community awareness and citizenship values ​​among students in light of digital transformation,” as one of the most important strategic goals of the Ministry of Education, which included 71,577 trainees. He thanked all the directors of the educational directorates for their efforts in supervising this program. Training, and achieving the maximum benefit by transferring what was trained on to teachers and students, and developing their awareness and understanding of national projects and the contributions of the Egyptian state.

The Minister also followed up on the position of placing new principals within the “Presidential Initiative 1,000 School Principals,” directing that all means of support be provided to them, facilitating all procedures for them, and following up on them to make the most of their abilities.

In the same context, Dr. Reda Hegazy was keen to stress that educational directorates should quickly place successful new teachers in the “30,000 Teachers Competition…the First Year” and facilitate all procedures for them.

The Minister also stressed the implementation of mechanisms that maintain the discipline of the educational process, including activating electronic absence, and limiting daily absence to the various educational stages, stressing that there should be no laxity in the absence of students in schools, and the necessity of working to attract students to school within the framework of the various measures taken. The Ministry, including the implementation of the Sports and Cultural Day in cooperation with the Ministries of Youth, Sports and Culture, which contributes to the discovery of talented and creative people, and its keenness to continue implementing viewing periods for the educational channels “Our School”, which includes the most distinguished teachers, as well as implementing school support groups that include distinguished qualified teachers. To teach in it, in addition to continuing to announce within schools the educational and training materials that the Ministry makes available on its official website for free, which include explanations, questions, tests, and links to educational videos, for the various curricula, with the aim of helping students throughout the Republic achieve academic achievement.

In the context of completing the development of the educational process, the Minister indicated that the Ministry is in the process of developing secondary school curricula, to reduce the burden on students and parents, explaining that the National Center for Educational Research and Development and the National Center for Educational Examinations and Evaluation have been assigned to review the research and studies that have been conducted in the field of developing Global curricula, systems and evaluation mechanisms; As well as assigning directors of educational directorates to receive studies and research in the field of curriculum development, evaluation systems, and university admission mechanisms. This is to maximize the benefit from it in preparing the secondary school system with new curricula that take into account the desires, inclinations and trends of students.

The Minister explained that the Ministry is close to completing the development of the strategic plan for the Ministry of Education 2024/2029, stressing that the most important characteristic of this plan is that it is consistent with the government’s work program and with the sustainable development goals, to achieve availability, quality, sustainability and governance, within the framework of a set of priorities, which is access. Participation, equity and inclusion, quality, green education, digital transformation, governance and management.

In the context of the mechanisms taken by the Ministry to address dropout from education as a strategic goal to achieve availability, the Minister directed the directors of educational directorates to form teams to address dropout from education, to identify dropouts and students who are habitually absent in various schools across the Republic, and to send lists of the teams and the names of their heads and members, as well as preparing reports on procedures. And follow-up mechanisms to take appropriate measures, maintain their completion of studies, and follow them up through social workers and psychologists in schools, noting that there are 5,000 community education schools that include about 130,000 students and about 7,000 teachers.

The Minister also followed up on the mechanisms of the educational directorates in conducting the preparatory certificate exams for the first semester, stressing that the Ministry will not allow cheating or leakage, and that every educational directorate must adhere to the exam controls and prevent cheating, and emphasize informing students early about how to take the exam.

This came in the presence of Dr. Iman Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Student Activities, Randa Halawa, Head of the Central Administration for Combating Educational Dropouts, Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Directorates Affairs, Nadia Abdullah, Head of the Central Administration for Teachers’ Affairs, and Abdel Raouf Allam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Parents and Teachers.
