Diamniadio, Jul 10 (APS) – The Minister of Education, Cheikh Oumar Hann, proceeded, Monday in Diamniadio, in the department of Rufisque, to the symbolic delivery of 10,000 tablets intended for students and teachers as part of the transition between the Basic Education Quality and Equity Improvement Project/Additional Financing (PAQEEB/FA) and the Education System Performance Improvement Project (PAPSE).
“The modernization of the sector will be done by integrating and appropriating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) through sufficient provision of digital infrastructure and solid training for all actors in the education system,” said Sheikh. Oumar Hann.
He was speaking during the symbolic handover ceremony of the 10,000 tablets organized at the ministerial sphere in Diamniadio.
According to him, this ceremony constitutes, beyond the symbol, “one of the strong moments of dialogue of our educational community around such a challenge of thought which addresses several questions”.
”What strategies to revitalize the quality of teaching and learning at all levels through digital technology? How to achieve widespread digital coverage in the sector? What priority actions to take in the short term? What organization of partner interventions to propose to eradicate the digital divide in the sector? he wondered.
He added that “the answer to these questions could convene a technical and partnership dialogue to better converge towards an integrated development of digital education and distance learning, in accordance with the institutional orientations set out in the sector program”.
