Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, denied embodying the biography of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi on the national stage during the upcoming month of Ramadan, saying Sheikh Shaarawi “has many reservations”.
“Al-Kilani” said in a telephone conversation on the program “Cairo Talk” with the media, Karima Awad, broadcast on the screen “Cairo and the People”, that a proposal was made to hold evenings on some religious figures in Ramadan, and that this is not a play, explaining that this The proposal was presented by the Director of the National Theater, and has not yet been presented to the committee, since the committee decides on the works according to some criteria and conditions.
He stressed that the artist Samiha Ayoub heads this committee which chooses the religious figures for which evenings will be held on the national stage, as well as the artist Ahmed Fouad Selim, noting that the name of Sheikh Al-Shaarawi was the name presented as an example and not a confirmation, and this work has not been announced or announced.
And he continued: “There must be a selection of enlightening personalities influential in society at all levels on the national scene”, stressing that the chosen personalities must have a positive impact in terms of enlightenment in the fight against extremist ideology.
