TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is currently investigating land ownership around the Pertamina Plumpang Depot, North Jakarta.
ATR/BPN Minister Hadi Tjahjanto held a press conference regarding BPN’s steps to identify land ownership around the Pertamina Depot in Plumpang which caught fire on Friday, March 3 2023.
The former TNI Commander has ordered the Head of the North Jakarta Land Office (Kakanta) to go directly to the location and identify land ownership around the Fuel Oil Terminal.
“Yesterday, I have ordered North Jakarta Kakanta to go straight to the field to identify which (land) belongs to the people, which belongs to Pertamina, which belongs to PT (private party). Please measure it, then the results will be reported to me later,” said Hadi, Tuesday , March 7, 2023.
The results of the identification of land ownership will soon be conveyed to the local community so that they can obtain certainty regarding the legality of the land where they have been living.
The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the ATR/BPN Ministry Himawan Arief Sugoto said that the government has been paying attention to land issues at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot for a long time, especially regarding the surrounding areas which are densely populated with residential areas.
“We will check if it is community land, then there will be a penlok (location determination) program, land procurement. But if it is Pertamina’s land, there will be other provisions which we will discuss later with Pertamina,” said Himawan.
Himawan said that the area around the depot should have been built as a buffer zone to anticipate fires.
The fire at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot, North Jakarta occurred on Friday, March 3 at around 20.00 WIB. Then, the fire can be tamed at around 23.00 WIB.
Later, PDIP and PSI politicians questioned the granting of a temporary IMB for the area by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to Tanah Merah residents who live around the Pertamina Plumpang Depot.
According to them, residents who live there should have been relocated instead of being given a permit. However, according to the Head of the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office of DKI Sarjoko, the granting of a Building Permit (IMB) in the residential area of Kampung Tanah Merah, Koja, North Jakarta is to fulfill residents’ basic services.
“That’s just support so that the basic needs of residents are met,” said Sarjoko.
There are also basic needs, including the need for clean water, road accessibility that supports community and economic mobility.
