“The results are not yet final but the veterinary survey shows that there were really unacceptable situations”, said the Minister of Agriculture Didier Guillaume Friday June 26 on Franceinfo, two days after the broadcasting of a video by the association for the defense of animals L214 showing lambs slaughtered in bad conditions in a slaughterhouse in Rodez (Aveyron ).
The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Wednesday the suspension “immediate” of the approval of the sheep chain of this abattoir in Rodez and a “full inspection” installations by “state services”.
“Without any mood, while it has social consequences for the 50 employees of the slaughterhouse, I decided to suspend the approval for sheep and it will be maintained until the operator has corrected the malfunctions “Didier Guillaume said on Franceinfo, recalling that“there are rules on animal welfare” and “operating rules in a slaughterhouse”.
