Last April, several artisanal fishermen suffered skin rashes off Guinean waters, notably at the port of Bonfi, Gbessia. After investigating the polluting slick at sea and thanks to the Embassy of the United States of America, there was a plane that flew over the sea. They were able to identify 5 suspicious ships.
It is following this observation that the Minister of Justice decided to order the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Conakry, for the purposes of legal proceedings for “acts of alleged marine pollution, having caused rashes in fishermen and environmental damage to the prejudice of the Guinean State, against suspected ore carriers”.
Find the entirety of this injunction from the department in charge of Guinean justice.
It should be recalled that at the time, five hundred (500) artisanal fishermen had been contaminated in the landing stages of Conakry and its surroundings, as well as on the islands of Loos.
